I've tried to like her, I love martial artists in any game, theyr'e usually my favorite characters to play. But I'm finding jade close to useless, and I'm wondering if it's because I'm building her wrong or if she's fact useless.I have her on spears and fisticuffs, and Erik, with dual falcon blades is close to her damage from ice whatever, just by atttacking regularly, let alone when he uses divide.
When he uses divide he normally gets a least 2.5x her damage. Harvest moon, was such a staple when I first got her, but it just seems unneccesary now. Even hero outdamages her with unbridled blade.Am I missing something? Spears and fisticuffs get obsolete in 2nd part of the game, they are only good in first. Her allure is pretty good. Femme fatalle does good aoe damage that ignores defences and scales off charm which she has even more than sylv.
Allure and claws are decent. Noone gonna outdamage erik, hes damage god in any spec. I mean with boomerangs he can kill any amount of enemies in 2 turns and also lower their resistance to afflictions, you can't beat that.Shes good in cases against heavy armored targets to damage them with allure spells, also all those abilities mesmerize or sleep, which is usefull, so he's kinda aoe dps/control.
With some luck with fists she can do solid damage aswell against saped targets, she has pretty high crit chance. I'm using Jade with Claws+Allure right now and she's very good. There is some sort of ribbon accessory you can get just for her that gives 6mp a turn when upgraded and boosts charm I think.
That's plenty of MP to keep her throwing big moves. Several of her moves scale of charm and it's easy to get her charm quite high, so those moves really hit hard (and some seem to cut through defense). The claw side of things seems kindof lackluster, but is great for stealing HP and one of the moves literally can't miss, which is extremely useful at times. I think the key to unlocking her potential though really lies with charm. Multifeet with a king cobra claw, damage isn't affected by spear/claw attack. Claws boost the crit rate of multifeet and attached ailment to each hit.

Use lightning thrust and multithrust if equipped with spear but I feel multifeet does more damage. If you equipped her with Belle's bow before Yggdrasil, you will end up with 2. Basically you won't be running out of MP with +12 MP and will be spamming Pink tornado very often for mobs. Revamp when you have an expiring Oomph or Accelerate status will autorenew them. Wow, lot of good info here guys thanks.
I'll reset her tonight, and go for allure and sees how i feel about it.As an aside, Last night I had a revelation with Hendrik that made me realzie he's not as good of a damage dealer as I initially thought since you can't stack double up and oomphle. He's still good, but hero could do it too, and i'm starting to wonder if Axes will make hendrik more useful. Wall panels decorative.
That's what sparked this whole discussion in the first place, because up until then I was begrudgingly leaving jade to the side while hendrik and erik went to town. I have him use Axes and he's still out of my lineup.

Dragon Quest Xi Jade X Hero

He's still good, but hero could do it too, and i'm starting to wonder if Axes will make hendrik more useful. That's what sparked this whole discussion in the first place, because up until then I was begrudgingly leaving jade to the side while hendrik and erik went to town. I've been using Hendrik with axes exclusively since I've had him and he does pretty good damage compared to the rest of my party. I didnt try swoards or greatswords with him, as I saw the chance to use a new weapon type and just mained him with it.
